I always find blisters to be very painful after bursting, so I would recommend leaving it alone. However, I usually cannot resist the temptation to have a good pick which usually ends up with me regretting it.

The modern way:
Use aforementioned pliers and rip the centre out of it - video it, then post on youtube for us all to share

sew it, leave a bit of cotton in there. drains the blister and stop bacteria going in will dry it out nicely

Moot point now, accidentally popped the bazzer earlier. It had doubled in size by then
