The good Subarus are getting older, the new ones aren't up to much, and people don't have the same kind of disposable income as they once did. This site will only become quieter unless Subaru come up with some kind of miracle. Think they've had their day now.

I only visit here on weekends and occasionally during the week, rarely posting. The scene seems to have lost its way with regional clubs dying off and the site slowing down. I disagree about the cars though, having driven the new hunchback, and spoken to quite a few owners it's the best standard car they've made. Specials like RA-R's etc may be better, but when the specials of this new car appear they may steal the show. And by special I mean the JDM proper specials, not the options list make-overs the UK gets. I'd have another if I could afford it, but wouldn't bother getting really into the 'scene' again. I'm too old, grumpy and boring to be organising events for loads of people. And I've had my share of back-stabbing as a result which leaves me twice-shy !

I can honestly say unless the newage changes shape by the time I am back at work, then I wont be bothering. They just don't appeal to me.
I could be persuaded with a nice example though.

I don't give a hoot what a Scoob looks like, as long as it goes around corners at speeds which could detach an ovary. They've always been ugly anyway, with me often likening them to Paula Yates. Michael Hutchense didn't dump Helena Christensen for a prettier fvck, just a better one. I do lament the loss of the frameless doors, and the burble, but would definitely have a hunchback. Let's face it, if you're in the driving seat which is where you should be, you can't see what it looks like. If you spend all day cleaning it and getting a semi over it, then you don't need such power and capability, just a selection of polishes and some Kleenex. You can polish a Ford Ka to a brilliant lustre, a Scoob should be driven, regardless of looks.

As for it being an ugly car, I quite like my classic, she's gorgeous!

I come on here far less than I did. It was a much better place to be before the former webmaster threw his toys out of the pram and thought he was some sort of Deity. Then the new crowd took over and for some reason everything went sssssssssssllllllllllloooooooooowwwwwwwwwwwww. I just gave up and went elsewhere. I've only started popping in the past few weeks or so.

Must say that as an occasional user I have not noticed the site becoming slow. Still get advice/enjoyment and cheap parts for the car through SN so I ain't complaining!

It used to be mental on SN in terms of traffic.
You would type as fast as you could to get your reply in............
It's probably 5% of what it was (traffic-wise) when compared to 2003; and about 1% as interesting

The original STi in good nick and with the standard tweaks all done to it took a bit of beating. I used to find elderly ladies standing next to it when the engine was idling because they said they loved the noise it made!
