Angry Mens trousers

Today I went shopping to get some smart trousers for a my new job, as I don't own any, other than the pairs I have with my suits. Anyhow I've came away with none as all I could find didn't fit my legs. My first ports of call were River Island and Top Man as I usually get some stuff there and it's quite trendy and reasonably priced. Christ on a bike I could even get them pulled up. Next was Primark these where a little better but a little tight in the lunchbox area. Now I would like to make an impression on the first day, but only for the right reasons. Final call was Matalan which where better but still tight round the thighs. Now is it just me and my thunder thighs or trousers getting skinner? Anyone else have these problems getting some keks for work?

I'm in the same boat mate, best advice, go to Marks and Spencers, they have some great suit style trousers, two pairs for £30 last time I looked.

The thing with RI and the likes, is that they are designed around people built like stick insects.

Im guessing your used to wearing jeans?
I have exactly the same problem, I buy a 36 inch waist jeans but I find trousers have to be bigger to fit round my thighs and groin area and just have to wear a belt

I'm the last person to give fashion tips, but try Debenhams, can't go wrong and nice easy buying environment (not pushy etc).

Yep jeans and combats mostly. Normally a 34inch waist with jeans and even then I've got to get loose fit.
As for the diet I was recently checked out at the doctors and was described as prefect weight for my height and age.
I'll probably try some of the above shops tomorrow or try some 36inch with a belt

I buy golf trousers for work - Ashworth Dewsweeper are my favourites. Plenty of room, smart, and easy care (just hang them up straight from the dryer and no ironing required). Good when I want to slope of work early to play golf as well.

I bet you were trying on fashion trousers, they are mostly the skinny type right now.

Buy a pair of suit trousers and you'll be fine!

The ones in the high street 'trendy' shops are all skinny ish with the fit at the moment.

I'd try M&S or a department store as they will have more of a range.

Did you try Burtons? It's about the only place I find trousers for work that fit/feel comfortable around the top of my legs/around the jewels. Also normally well priced too.

River Island, Top Man and sometimes even next seem to cater for the skinny runts only. (yes I could do with losing a few pounds but not everyone is a 10 stone stick with a 30" waist)
