Plane spotters.....whats this aircraft ?
Just curious..
Heard a prop driven plane circling the local airport (Crosby-on-Eden) this morning, not the usual Cessna or Piper Tomohawk. Not a visiting Toccano as it didn't have a Turboprop sound....and wasn't all over black.
Low wing monoplane with retracted undercarriage, tapered square wing with a rounded fin and red nose (Radial engine).... any ideas?

Hi Mike
I don't think there are any big exercises on at the moment......deployment usually involves a few helicopters but the dead givaway are the extra roadsigns for the Army to find the place. All a bit Dad's Army for a "secret" exercise LOL
Sometimes a few aircraft tool around before coming / going to the range at Spadaddem.
How's Wakey ?
