They only have to send it within 2 weeks. Doesn't matter when you actually receive it

And now there is no postal strike.

As in my original post - you are screwed!

I can help.
I think you need the bias between the middle and right pedal adjusted. Sounds like its a little heavy on the right.

If it arrives, take it on the chin (then slow down), if it doesn't, slow down anyway

I got caught doing 39 in a 30, I thought it was a 40 so was a bit suprised when I got a letter. Anyway I got offered the speed awareness course or points. I went on the course, cost me £60 and half a days holiday, much better than having insurance etc issues.

If there is film in the unit, it needs to be changed, usually by an agency, which is nice.

I think the fact that it flashed means you were probably doing more than 35.

If you were doing no more than 35 then you should be OK.
Its usually an allowance of 10% + 2mph to allow for calibration issues

It does unless they sent it by Recorded / Registered post. If they sent it 1st class (as most do) you have to receive it within the 14 - a new court ruling, which is what the stuff in the paper is on about

I was caught on a camera doing 35mph in a 30 limit - they are setting them that low in my area. I was offered 3 points + £60 fine or attendence at a speed awareness course (cost £74). I took the course.

There have been reports of people caught at a local mobile site doing a little as 32mph in a 30 limit - on an uphill dual carriageway. Just to show how hypercritical the whole system is, the local council have subsequently decided this road is safe enough to increase the limit to 40mph.

Contest it
I know someone in N.Ireland who was done for doing 77 on the motorway - 3 points & £60 fine
Traffic branch said "We've target to make, contest it and you'll get away with the points, but you'll have to pay the fine"

not sure about that tbh. i agree with your argument but if you lose i am sure you get 4 points instead of 3. , i dont know the reason why but i am positive i have read this on a similair thread.

If you have been flashed you'll recieve a letter asking you to name the driver. If you dont respond (which you cant if theres a strike) they send another threatening legal proceedings.
If its your first time, write to them saying you'll benefit from a speed awareness course. £60 and day out but its not 3 points!!!
