At the side of the road or at events? looked into this myself and the only way to make decent money at this is to have a large set up at events. But then they charge upwards from a 1000 quid just to park the damn trailer there and they pretty much can pick and choose who they want on. i.e. when i asked they didn't want a burger/hot dog/bacon butties etc. they wanted a hog roast and like i said to park at the event it was a grand a day - thats a lot of food to turn around.
Priced a trailer up at Wilkinson trailers, got the usual speil and waffle and after initially thinking 'oh it'll be 6-8k at the most, walked away with a quote of 17 grand.
Obviously parked at the side of the road or on an industrial estate is cheaper as you only have to pay the local council - as long as no one else gets p****d off you being there if there is a competitor arund the corner.
And you also need all the insurances and gas complience certificate, i'm sure you dont need me to tell you that.
I looked into it and i've no doubt you can make good money but for me after looking at the initial outlay the return of something that i knew little about wasn't worth it.
anyway if your still interested have a look at this for secondhand units.

Not something I'd like to get involved with round our way.
They are very territorial & have been know to burn out vans trespassing on others areas.
Might be more pleasant round your way.
I know of another guy who goes to motoring events & pitches in the official camp sites. Makes a mint.
