Default Mohmed al-Megrahi not dead yet

Three months on and this guy is not dead.
Can I state for the record that I am flabbergasted.
Certainly doesn't show the NHS in a very good light.

The Government should have either admitted they didn't have enough evidence to say that they were sure he did it and possibly released him on that basis, or not let him out at all. How can someone responsible for all those people losing their lives and families losing a part of theirs be allowed to return home on 'compassionate grounds'?

Let's hope he hurries up and pops his clogs.

There is a lot of doubt thrown on his case, the trial was very poorly run and it is significant that the US did not want his appeal to be heard, as did not our govt. The police are re-investigating some leads to other people at the moment.

Certainly not right to wish his death on him anyway!

THE guy is almost certainly innocent. The UN supervisor of the dodgy trial claimed it was one of the biggest ever miscariages of justice in a modern european court. After years went by the scottish would certainly have had to give in to an appeal which would have caused serious embarrasment to the USA and scotland so rather than deal with that they let him go.

He was a total scapegoat. Apparently his family in Lybia are now seriously well off because of his sacrifice. If you think about it, someone will always take the rap if the prize is so high.

I think you will find that the same is true for all those who sacrifice in the name of Allah, suicide bombers families are well looked after, part of the deal in case the bomber gets a little concerned about what will happen to his family once he has detonated.

Looking after his familys little to do with his innocence, in fact you could easily argue the opposite!

I looked into this issue a few weeks ago.

There is more than a little evidence pointing towards the Iranians, not to mention the obvious motive they had at the time too.

I think this whole things stinks, no appeal, and a (probably) innocent man locked up for expedience.

Make you wonder when docs say someone has x amount of time left, look at jane tomlinson - lasted another 5 years, did marathons, etc - supposed to be on her last legs?
then there's jade piggy - managed to last (too long)

why is it everyday people don't survive as long when they're diagnosed with a fatal condition?

In many cases it depends on the attitude of the patient and how they deal with their illness.

Some just give up when they get the bad news and they usually go first. Its an awful situation when you are diagnosed as I know myself well enough.

A strong attitude to the problem and the treatment, with a feeling of not wanting to let it beat you will often extend your time or even help effect a cure.

+1.

The appeal should have been heard.
