'Up' The film - Great!
Took the family, introduced a 'points' system for good/bad behaviour - this is for the kids, not Jen and I. The kids got to the 'magic' 10 pts each so we took them to a film of thier choosing and i have to say i really enjoyed it. Animation up to pixars high standards, not too fussy but brillianty don. The characters/story was just nice and family friendly.
One of the best kids films i have seen in ages.

I've been putting off seeing it with my son as Trout was telling me its a bit scary with the scenes containing height/falling/terror, would you say it was OK for a 5 year old ?

Yes, we took our 6 & 4 year olds, they got a little clingy with the dog pack sceens at first but soon settled. the dogs are not that scarey really and it helps that they 'talk'. I will not tell you any more as it will spoil it. Lot of younger kids there including our neighbours who have a 4 y/o and they loved it as well.

I watched it with the little ones (2 and 3 years) and they thought it was great.
Considering their age I thought it was great that they sat and watched it ALL. Thy were fixated on it. The dog scenes didn't scare them as I think for the most of the film the 'pack leader' had this comical high pitched voice. I think it was done for the purpose of stopping it look to scary. You will understand if you watch it.
As for the adults I think the film had a great sense of adventure, and growing 'up' together, and I think the characters are lovable by all ages and both men and women.
Mr Fredrickson is everyones lonely old Grandad who had become a bit cynical, and Russel is like everyones annoying little brother, but still so lovable.
To be honest I would be suprised if someone said they didn't enjoy it.

Watched it in 3D. It actually works these days.
Gave me a bit of vertigo at one point which I found impressive more than anything. My 7 year old enjoyed it. Its good but not on par with say, Wall E.

yeah and I understand the initial confusion as I was the same but not long after they meet you get to see the pink bow. I think the artists knew what the audience would be thinking.

Ah yes. I am hoping to get hold of it to watch it again, it kept the kids quiet and still for a whole hour or so, then it's worth it's weight in gold to me!

Watched 'UP' at the cinema in Canada back in June this year in 3D. Thought the film was very good, but thought the 3D wasn't as on-par as say IMAX-3D films. Best film I have seen on IMAX is the 'Fly me to the Moon' IMAX-3D, and that was amazing! Th Charcaters actual came close to your face, whilst the standard Cinema 3D was lacking some what. Still pixar still don't disapoint, I personally think Wall-E is their weakest in the line up.
