Why are we paying child benefit in Poland? - Telegraph

And i am led to believe we have the worse system in Europe.

Then you dig just a little and answer the questions

Not really, only to those misguided souls who are doing the esteeming!

To me it just seems yet another way for the PC Plonkers to skin the electorate alive and waste our taxes in yet another ridiculous manner in their concentrated effort to destroy our country!

Oh Leslie come on, you know if they wanted to destroy the country they'd fail, given their general level of incompetence

What a disgusting waste of money, typical govt incompetence.

The amount though, in the bigger picture, is quite small. An interesting question is whether we should have child benefit at all. Why do we pay people to have/raise children? If they can't afford to support their children then they shouldn't have them.
If it was thought that a family was so impoverished that the children may not get the very basics, then they could be given vouchers for milk, nappies etc.

I think the initial thoughts behind CB was that it was paid to women so that they could buy things for their children. Even though the husband may have earned good money, it did not necessarily follow that the mum would get what she wanted for the baby!

Yes, it is outdated now, but I tell you this, even though I could afford to support my daughter myself, CB comes in bloody handy!

It should be paid in vouchers only redeemable (proof of id with a passport) for food and clothing for kids only - IMHO

Oh and not for Poles with kids back home.

Whilst £20m may not seem a lot to some 20m for better equipped/protected troops is better use of a 'measly' £20m IMHO

This is staggering - we, the taxpayer, are paying for kids who have never been to this country, let alone speak the language, yet as a ****ry (correctly mispelt) we are sending our sons, husbands, brothers out to fight a pointless war without the proper equipment.

It is just another fact that makes this country so totally unbelievable - you couldn't make it up......

What are the chances of them getting to those who could benefit from them, more likely sold to buy AK47's and machette's, to be used on the poor devils who live there!

made by EMO's for EMO's --- why don't people just get of their backsides and make something of their lives and stop blaming everyone else for their miserable existences

we live in an age of "lowest common denominator" rules

Er no, not the same reason at all. One is a badly thought out and administered UK benefit, the other is overseas aid to developing countries.

Not quite sure how you connected the two

I thought it was obvious – but according to the rule of the lowest common denominator I’ll spell it out

Maybe if people stopped posting racist bigoted xenophobic sh1te all day long

they might have the chance to look at themselves and workout why they are soooo inadequate that they have to blame their sh1te lives on <insert here>

we could all sit around blaming <insert here>, but some people just get off their backsides and make the most of a **** lot (although not as **** as 95% of the worlds population)

coz if you can’t get on in a country like the UK maybe you aren’t as good as you think you are

so wind your neck in and get on with it

This place would get a bit boring though if the usual suspects stopped 'posting up their racist bigoted xenophobic sh1te all day long'.

I agree with the sentiment though

Cos it sounds sensational

But of course theres not really any such thing as aid , its give and take , mainly take by the west . The area is now connected to high speed bb and software enginners are swarming to 'exploit' the situation/population - friend was attempting just this ( in Kenya mind) until recently , whereupon his african counterpart had him marched out the country by the 'police' on the quite plausible possiblity that he didnt have a work permit

- im quite sure a section will be exchanged for firepower

All boils down to the same thing in the end, your/my taxes being sent abroad and weakening the UK's economy. Charity starts at home mate, look after your own first then if there is any left over start helping others.

Thats how i connected the two
