surely this cant be right? loan Q
wifey took a loan out in 2006 around £8300 to consolidate some other bits, anyways 18 months left to pay think its either 170 or 175 a month she pays
anyways in bank this morning they offered to top it up like they do and took her into a nice room with cuppa tea
being curious she said she may think about it, came home to be after thinking and then called lloyds ont he phone to try get though to her branch to make an appointment to see manager she saw this morning, the way i see it is shes been paying it for 3 odd years why not do it again for another 5, ok to some of you thats madness but 5k right now would be handy, and to be honest some of the money would be invested at a better return anyway
on the phone they said thats fine we can do it all for you here no need to go into the branch,, to borrow an extra 5k as she still owes £3400. it would basicly top her up to her original loan
they said thats £235 a month !!!!!!!! she came into me and asked, i said WHAT !!! whats the apr 24.9 the women told her, what the hell?? this is lloyds, wifeys credit is crystal clear even her credit card has a balance of zero as its paid in full each month.
it would be sodding cheaper to borrow it on a card pmsl
surely they were just trying to pull her pants down??? i told her if she wants to do it just pop back into her branch and ask to see the manager that was so nice to her this morning

I don't know yr circumstances, but I work on the basis, of if I haven't the cash, I don't buy it.
excepting my mortgage obviously.
do you really need 5K.
is the roof falling off yr hse
boiler broken
car need repairing ?

as i said mate some of it would be re invested ie topping up current cash we use to trade with, it all makes a difference to us, and to be honest half of that 5k would make enough profit to pay the monthly fee off 3 times over every month, so in effect if you look at it from the other point of view its more sensible.

they have increased the margin that they are willing to trade at
money used to be cheap now it is expensive
it's that simple

madness rate though, the credit card is only 16 percent i think and they are expensive lol
will get her to pop into branch and demand 12 percent or whatever it should be they say they do them from 8.9-24.9 normally 11. something
doesnt make sence my first thoughts that wer emaybe they credit checked her and something adverce came up but they never even done one so i just cant get my head round it, oh well see what they say in the brach

lol, this is weird, I had a similar situation, similar amount and similar terms, even pay the same per month, asked for another 5k, they ran it through and it came back with (yep you guessed it) the same £235 a month deal. i hung up.
