Default Ebay

Have a watch for sale on ebay with a buy now or best offer.

Received a message via ebay from a chap who wants to pay via Paypal or BT and wants it shipped to Bulgaria via Fedex.

How is he scamming if he pays via BT, has he hijacked someones bank account?

not sure, but i had a phone for sale on there, and a chap asked me to send it Lithuania as he was out of the uk until the end of October (he had a uk address), i couldn't risk sending it, as "it was likely to get lost in the post"

If it were to get lost in the post and it is insured then surely you would be covered?

I dubt Royal Mail will cover it being sent to Lithuania, I would not send anything out of the UK when selling on Ebay, too much scamming going on

OK thanks, I assume it is a scam because when I had it up previously a chap with a similar username wanted to pay via Paypal, I said if BT then I'd concider it.

Assuming if he pays via BT from a hijacked Bank account the money could be reclaimed?

I've recently sold ebay car parts to Bulgaria & other Eastern Block no problem but only with Paypal, which does provide some protection. If someone wants ur bank details for BT thats an open invitation for trouble!

Seems the only safe thing to sell over there is parts for VAG cars, For some reason parts over there are super expensive so they use UK eBay.
I would give the eBay customer help line a call, Its a local number (local to london anyway) ask them what the deal is if its a scam.

Its not fair to assume that 100% of them are onto a scam but it must be a higher % than any other country at the moment.
