Mmmmmm, I like the sound of a good Lancia.
Now we just need a link to the clip of the Impreza running around a mountain on Anti-lag. I just wish I could remember who was driving it so I could search for it.

My Lotus Cortina with the short exhaust had to be heard to be believed when it was on resonance.
Used to get dogs in the air-cats horizontal as they took off, and pedestrians used to look upwards!

When I was younger we would follow the Lombard RAC Rally through Wales.
My mate would drive in his RS2000, and later his Manta i200 and I would try to read the map.
There are a few good memories that have a permanent place in my head.
Waking up in a red hot ticking over car at 0430hrs on a snowy, moonlit, freezing cold winters morning in '****-line-ee-og' forest (sorry cant google correct spelling from here.) to the sound of a 6R4/T16/Manta400/Stratos is certainly one of them.
We would be woken by the growls of the car starting its stage, then we would make our way to a good vantage point, freezing cold, torch in hand, scrunching through the thick snow.
We would hear the growls from miles away, on and off, dispersing in the woodland, sometime thinking " **** its here " only for the growls to disappear.
Then they got louder and louder.....the heart began to pound, still half asleep you could see lights glaring in the distance, flickering bright through the trees, only to disappear again.
Then back again louder and louder, until suddenly there it was, a crescendo of noise, flames, blinding light pods and flying stones....**** me............and that was it, gone.
Just to be left with the smell of something akin to a two stoke motorbike, and steam iron, and a knowing excitement that there was another one due past in 5 minutes...excellent.
Names that ring a bell, (note no google access for spelling).. Sweet Lamb/keelda/****-line-ee-og/The Woodyard/something one and two/Chatworth House/The safari park.
In those days they would start at Chester do a couple of mickey mouse spectator special stages and then head straight for the forests in mid Wales for the serious stuff.
We would even stop at the service halts to see what was going on, and try to scavenge some freebees, caps/wooly hats/poster/stickers etc.
Good days..... I didnt go much after the (was it group A) ban.

I love the sound of the Dialynx Audi Quattro's, there was a red one at Rallyday a couple of years ago that was awesome.
The Group A Impreza rally cars are up there as well
