Family meals
Hi All
Ok I need to come up with a load of healthy family meals that I can cook for the tribe
Basically me and the better half have decided we need to get healthy, and I piped up and said "we need to eat much better" , as she does the majority of cooking she took it to heart and said "well you cook from now on"
I actually enjoy cooking , but i always end up cooking chinese although I must say its reassonably healthy.
So please recommend me guys and gals

BBC Food pages have a great archive: BBC - Food You can search by ingredients so you can get all the healthy stuff covered, and it includes recipes by all the famous chefs if you want to be really impressive.
You could try planning your menu a week in advance to cut out the 'what on earth am I going to cook?' feeling when you get home from work, and make sure you're eating healthily, rather than whatever comes to hand, but when I did that I ended up spending a fair bit more on the weekly food shop and we seemed to spend every other day eating ice cream, albeit home-made ice cream (I may just be rubbish at planning though).
Chinese cooking is indeed healthy, how about getting a decent cook book (we have one by Ken Hom, can't remember the name) and working through it?
From experience, if you pick recipes from websites, buy yourself a notebook and, when you find a recipe you like, print it out and stick it in there. Saves you having to faff around searching it again and gives you a handy stock of favourite recipes for when you have to cook something at short notice.

sainsburys feed a familt for a fiver, some of the meals are ok and some are much better. my favourite is hot cros buns sliced in half. spread marmalade over, lay in a tin and cover with vanilla custard cook in oven for about 10 mins.
