Default Its all nuts...

Now most of us are aware or have heard of the stupid warnings you can get on a packet of nuts that says ' Warning, may contain nuts '

And I remember a flight back from Portugal a few years ago where after we had been delayed by 3 hours and were all tired and grumpy, it was announced that the crew would not be serving any nuts because there was a serious nut allergy passenger and would everyone please refrain from eating any nuts or nut flavoured snacks that they may have brought onto the plane..FFS

And now sitting here at work, I have in front of me a lovely bottle of Tesco white grape and blackberry water. And on the back it says:

Allergy advice
* Recipe - No nuts. well I hope not , its water
* Ingredients - Cannot guarantee nut free. What like a rogue cashew may have sneaked into the bottling line and made a bid for escape ??
* factory - No Nuts

Which begs the question, why do we have to have all this crap ?
And for all you nut sufferers.... have a topic bar and relax

all they are doing is covering their ****, i'm a nut allergy sufferer and if I read every label, I wouldn't be eating anything. Alot of it is down to common sense, if your having a nut roast you can be pretty much sure it has nuts in

What have they got against New-Zealanders? I prefer 'em to Aussies, that's for sure

Kiwi fruit has a cross-over allergen to latex (as has tomatos) so might trigger latex allergy in the future.......... but that's going a bit far LOL

Swisstony,
My niece has a serious nut allergy which results in a swollen face to the point her eyes are almost closed, restricted air ways and breathing difficulties. If or when a 4 year old reacts in such a manner in front of you, see how you feel about the warnings then.

So its fine because one person who has a nut allergy stops hundreds of people from eating their own food ???

That is what you are saying.

I better not take my niece , who is lactose intolerant, into Starbucks or on that farm trip to the local diary then

Are you for real?
So what you are saying is you would quite happily sit there stuffing your fat face with a bag of nuts on a plane knowing a child could suffer a violent reaction at 30000 feet.
As said, witness full on nut reaction in person and you might loose the ignorant attitude.
For the record, my niece doesn't actually have to eat a nut she reacts to contact or anything with nut trace on it, hence her mother carries an Epipen, go read up........

And just for the record, I am working on slimming down my 'fat' face but thanks for noticing

Nik.

Are you "nuts"?! Why should a single nut allergy sufferer stop an entire plan from eating nuts. It's bonkers in the extreme. No one is asking said person to eat any nuts are they?

Cant .... help .... it..........Bwaaaahaaaahaaaa.

I reckon one of the cabin crew on my last flight was allergic to biological washing powder so before I got on the plane I had a right go in the Zanussi with Persil Bio in the hope that she'd react from 20 yards and rag off!!

Didn't work.

At least your wives are playing the allergy card. My wife just calls me a ******, although that could be advise rather than an insult.

That's nothing Swiss, I once saw the following on a packet of airline complimentary nuts (I kid you not):

Instructions:

1) Open Bag
2) Eat nuts

I tapped a flight attendant on the shoulder, pointed to the instructions and said: Sorry, but you've lost me between parts one and two!

You should have thrown the bag at her. See how allergic she is to the high velocity versions
