Bought a car some 7-8 weeks ago, not had through the V5 yet or a tax reminder. Tax runs out end of the month so tax needs doing, what can i do if i cannot get it in time. I hope it would have turned up by now but no such luck.

Do you have the green slip ? If not Ring up the dvla and check the previous owner sent the log book off, as you cant tax the car witout the log book or green slip.

I Taxed my car originally using the little slip from the V5 that the previous owner gave me before I actually recieved the updated V5 form.

you should have the green slip from the V5 -- which I think allows you to tax it

Can you not tax it via t'internet? Did mine the other night, all it asked was if you had a V5 and the current owner. As long as it's got an M.O.T and insurance (which it checks via the database) you can buy on-line.
