Question does canned beer 'go off'?!..

Just randoming found a couple of cans of Carlsberg at the back of a cupboard earlier, and I've just got one out the fridge all nicely chilled and cracked one open, however I've just clocked on the bottom of the can the use-by is Sept 08?!

Seems to taste ok - surely doesnt go off canned does it?!..

Budweiser does, but that is **** beer. Generally, a sealed unit should be ok. At worst, it may ferment and become stronger.

Just go out and buy some fresh stuff

Pretty much drunk it all now, as I can't find anywhere online saying its a big no-no to drink it when its 'off'! Doesn't taste amazing to be honest, but then it is Carlsberg!

Its more likely that degredation of the actual can holding the beer will give more problems than the beer itself.

If its stored somewhere cool, dark and dry it should be fine!

If something is past it's sellby date in my mother's house, she swings a pendulum over it. If that says it's OK, it's eaten/drunk, if not it's thrown away.

Has never failed and there's some really old stuff in her larder!
