Housing Services are seeking to appoint an experienced female Support Worker to join the Gypsy & Traveller Liaison Service. The post is funded by Supporting People to provide housing related support to Gypsies and Travellers living on residential sites and on unauthorised encampments.

You will require a knowledge, understanding and empathy of cultural heritage and diversity issues experienced by this client group. You will be able to demonstrate a practical approach to supporting individuals in accessing services and enabling them to maintain their lifestyle choice within local communities.

You will be required to have access to a car for the delivery of the service to clients living across the entire County and will need to evidence a clear Criminal Records Bureau check before the commencement of duties.

Please note that this advert is for female applicants only as there is a genuine occupational requirement for a female postholder in order to accommodate the cultural heritage of Gypsies when providing access to services for female gypsy clients.
And these gypsies cultural heritage does about as far as stealing scrap metal

The ad says they welcome application from Tims - not that one will have a cat's chance in hell of getting it
