At last some good has come of the recession

Congestion on our roads down by a third over the last two years

Increasing unemployment and high petrol costs identified as the main reasons.

I think this is a great thing, they should keep putting the price of petrol up so that travel by car once again becomes a luxury for the masses. The roads will become much quieter and more usable for those of us that can afford to run our gas guzzlers

Motoring will once again be the preserve of the rich

i was driving around the M11/M25 alot for work last year when petrol hit £1.25

and it was a pleasure tbh, very little traffic

this also happened in the recession of the early 90's
