Default Mobiles and transfer of information

Guys,

Someone on here will probalby know or have done this.

I need to transfer my phonebook from a Sony Ericsson P1i to a Blackberry 8900.

I know I can transfer phone to sim and to it that way, but it screws up all the names of my contacts.
Shortens them, add cr@p like /1, /2, /3 etc

I can export the entire phonebook in a .vcf file, but can't convert to .ipd
Downloaded something called amber vcf convertor (1.03) but it doesn't work for me

Any ideas.

Would like if possible SMS over also.

Thanks,

Shaun

Whilst that would work, not all my contacts are in Outlook and equally lots more contacts on Outlook that I'd not want on the phone?

I've always been able to use something called MyPhoneExplorer in the past, but this doesn't work on Blackberry

I hate that Meerkat ad with a vengeance

However, outlook doesn't want to play.
Refuses to start the translator?

Ah well.

I done it the old fashioned way and re-entered the contacts one by one
Was a good way of tidying up if nothing else
