Just read this on another forum I frequent.
"Not sure if this is true, but I've heard that planes are now fitted with an 'auto destruct' button just like in Sci Fi movies. These can triggered remotely by the authorities if they think a flight has been hi-jacked.
Apparently this is what brought down the Air France plan recently, it seems that if you are playing multiplayer Mario Kart on the DS the wireless signal sets off the Auto Destruct."
