Default MTBers- dirty weekend in Wales

Annoyingly I've spent the week on Snowdonia, without the bike.

I posted an idea a while back about a weekend riding in the Lakes, but I realise it's a long treck for most people

So hands up who's for a weekend in Snowdonia? Probably 2 days of riding to make it worth the trip, and a B&B / pub to exchange heroic tales of near-misses nobody else saw along the way (or is that just me?!)

I know you can't commit without dates, so we'd have to suggest some then see who can go. I'm thinking September, so I have time to do some riding first (haven't ridden since winter).

I'm up for it as long as we don't have to go tooooo far, I'm not that fit yet! How many miles per day are on the cards?

I could do the lakes too, or there are some awesome trails in Gisburn Forest, North Yorks/Lancs

That red bull trail i was on about has different courses you can ride depending on your level of fitnes and skill etc,so you can just go on a short easy trail or pick one of the more technical trails, aslong you can make it out of the car park should be fine....

I can do climbs and what have you, and I can do the technical stuff, just not for very long! I think I managed about 15 - 20 miles on Saturday but literally had to drag myself the last few. I'm working on my stamina though, tips appreciated!

Phil, whereabouts are you? I'm from near Skipton. Deffo up for a ride sometime but I work shifts too, 5 on 4 off with hours all over the shop! Have you done the new stuff yet, it's epic!

Cycling near a coffee shop sounds ideal to me!

Right, let's sort it out then. September was mentioned, how does Sat, Sun - 26th, 27th sound? Shall we start a list of attendees, a group on here, a Fartbook group?

I went to Coed y Brenin earlier in the year......my god, it was awesome.

We did the Dragon's Back trail...couple of vids ...Dragons Back - Beginning of the end and Dragons Back - Big Doug

I must confess to spending quite a lot of time walking up the boring firetrack climbs, but thoroughly enjoyed the singletrack sections and I only fell off once (but still have the scars to prove it)

Thinking about returning sometime

dates look good, will confirm. Original locations sound best if noone is superfit. Add your names to the list if interested, and i'll look for accommodation

Gawd I'm blind... REALLY REALLY must get my eyes tested. Text is going a bit blurry at my age

Unfortunately I'm doing a 100 mile charity walk that finishes on the Saturday, so probably won't be in a fit state to drive 250 miles to ride a bike up a hill

Week after I'm free
