Default 66 injured in a 259 car pile up!

On the Autobahn.....
I cant imagine that scene. Very rare to get one of that size, but 259, im sure thats the most I have heard of.

Hope all 66 make a good recovery

Numbers revised down a bit according to the BBC but still a biggie. Notice they manage to get a mention of "excessive speed"

It probably was a result of excessive speed for the conditions, as it says that there was heavy rain. The journalistic licence left out the 'for the conditions' bit like they always do when talking about speed.

lol @ no Subaru's... Important stuff eh

Strange with the numbers though. 259 seems an accurate number to guess at.
I guess we will never know as it will drop off the news radar in hours.

Glad there were no fatalities though.

well it has been p11ssing down here with exceptional vigor lately and the average German thinks they are invincible anyway so I am not in the least bit suprised. They drive the same in snow and ice aswell putting blind faith in the fact they have winter tyres on their cars.

You mean winter tyres dont grip snow and ice !! OMG ! lol

I think I am gonna hate myself for saying it, but of the few countries I have driven in and been on the roads in..... *gulp.... USA seems to be the one that pays attention to and respects the weather the most. (from my experience)

'Cause Al kaeda might be lurking in the rain droplets, or waiting in snow (imagine with Bush accent).
