Bugger - broke my scaphoid
I've just broken the scaphoid in my right hand / wrist- well, I say just, it was about six weeks ago. Didn't think much about it at the time, but when it was atill aching a few weeks later I had it x-rayed. They told me it was not broken, most likely ligament damage, and to keep using it- it would be fine.
Imagine my dismay on saturday when I received a letter from the hospital asking me to attend urgently (three weeks after the xray).
Seems its broken, but after five hours waiting they told me they didn't have anyone that could plaster a scaphoid and to go back today.
I've just got back, complete with plaster. Spoke to my insurers and they said that if the doctor hadn't said I couldn't drive then I didn't need to inform them.
Fingers and thumb are free of the cast, its my right hand, and I'm driving an automatic, so reckon I'm ok. I can hold the wheel securely with both hands so fingers crossed I'm still clear to drive. Typing's real hard though..

Sorry to hear that Simon
Very nasty little injury. Often happens to bikers who put their hands out when tipped over the handlebars. Can take a long time to heal and may (in future) be weaker as a result to the same type of accident again.
Having done judo for 10+ years of my formative life, I always duck and roll when thrown off/over a bike - which is why I broke my thumb one time, damaged my shoulder another and recently gravel rashed my arm/shoulder/leg... All of which I prefer to having permanently weak scaphoids.
All the best

Bad luck mate, how did you do it ?
Am in T bay at the moment, nipped down to the circuit yesterday as somewhere to tale the kids, thought I would say hello but not surprised you weren't there ! See interesting stuff on, an X-bow, loads of skylines, f430 etc, someone stuffed a lovely Skyline into the wall, well it said skyline but looked more like a jdm 350z, whatever it was it looked a bit sorry for itself.
Anyway, get well soon.

Think I did it unloadidn the trailer when I took the Mazdas for corner weighting, but not 100% sure. Although it hurt like **** at the time, I dismissed it when I could still wiggle my fingers and wrist.
