Very weird one this, my mate can to pick me up the day after my son was born and took me into the hospital and then went home.
On his way to my house he was stopped and questions about the ownership and tax of the car. He had only bought it the day before and the cop seemed fine with that.
He explained where he was going and showed him the card for my misses and the baby. The cop again was fine and sent him on his way.
2 Months later he gets a NIP for 36 in a 30 .. for that morning.. on the stretch of road he was pulled over ..
Seems it took them a while to track him down.
Thoughts?

Without looking at the paper work I would say that's going nowhere. 14 days to present NIP. 3 to 4 weeks for the return of the v5 I think they have gone over time by 2 weeks.
I would approach the CAB with the paper work.

Not necessarily.
The original NIP could of been sent to the old keeper within 14 days, they then have 28 days to respond, the subsequent NIP could then have been sent to your mate within 14 days of getting it back.

Surely if they had followed your mate and clocked him for speeding then they should have given him the NIP / ticket on the spot

I have to admit that was my view -- i.e. they had to have an actual speed, not just "you were going to fast"
but in an thread last year on a speeding ticket issue, some of the legal eagles on here kicked that opinion into the long grass, and the police can indeed testify in court that in their opinion you were exceeding the speed limit, and a magistrate will convict you of a speeding offence

If it "was estimated that you were exceeding the speed limit" by the plod,99% you are going to get a fine and an endorsement even if you go to court. My son got caught the "old fashioned way" ie without any camera evidence, and still got three points.
And in their evidence, they did not calibrate their vehicle speed until the week after the said offence!Load of bllcoks!

I thought Felix was a copper too ?
I thought 2 forms of evidence have to be provided, one can be the speedo of the car, the other is the officer, doesnt have to be 2 individual officers
Question is though was he speeding ?
Guy at work has just had a NIP through for 52 in a 50 on SPECS
