Wink One more reason to avoid the South-West

Oh dear, with awful bunged up roads, persistent dampness, awful hotels, reactionary locals here is another reason to avoid the South-West...

Ouch!

I think they do a good job of keeping cyclists and joggers to a minimum on our country roads now all they need to do is start on the caravaners and all will be well with the world

You'll find the locals reactionary because it's a different pace of life, then you lot come down racing around everywhere like it's something important.

Try enjoying your holiday instead of bringing your problems along then maybe you'll get a different response.

As for buzzards i've had one several feet away dive on the ground but it was after something else, big buggers mind.

To imagine I would go to the south-west on holiday is totally deluded!

The reactionary view was established from posters on Snet rather than on personal observation. Although, my relatives in the South-West are fairly reactionary now that I put my mind to it.

They can be but you have to understand we are inundated every year, the roads go from sensible to sheer lunacy at times and finding a parking spot is borderline laughable, we understand why people want to come down trouble is it's getting to saturation point, there's hardly a day where i don't see some sort of problem caused by it.

As for the roads being packed, well local knowledge helps with that one.

As for not wanting to come down on holiday, don't forget most of the areas you went are tourist hotspots, try searching further afield, stay away from st ives/newquay/roseland/padstow/polzeath/rock etc.

There are still unspoilt areas, it's getting harder to find but they are there.

York is a bit meh, lots of cobblestones and lads nights out on the weekends, not to mention it has a bloody great wall, it's nice but cornwall it aint.

It's all right - I live in a the middle of a field ten miles away with a wall, a moat (complete with Duck Island) and a shotgun

PS And Northumberland/Scotland is much closer and has everything the South-West has to offer with none of the downsides.

It is difficult not to form an opinion of the grockles when they come here walking about as if they owned the place, shouting at each other all the time, dressed in string vests which scarcely retain their monstrous bellies, gronfing away on fast food at all times of the day, and dropping the residue on the ground instead of in the bins provided, walking all over the roads instead of on the pavements provided, bumping into others as though they never existed, especially the disabled, standing around outside the pubs hoovering the alcohol and then throwing up all over the road, treating the locals as though they are mentally deficient, trying to drive through gaps that don't exist and then spending 20 minutes shouting at each other in the middle of the road and not bothering to clear away the glass from their broken side mirrors, and all in all bringing their very poor or non existent manners with them!

That buzzard was nobody's fool believe me.

Maybe the Buzzard is natures way of keeping the grockles away from the South West.

Either that or it's a new weapon of mass destruction from the boys at the Cornwall National Liberation Army (CNLA) to keep the Grockles out.

Can the Buzzard be modified to drop bombs on the caravans, please please please.

This is the main reason I avoid coming down to cornwall during peak holiday season. I've been down to friends once during the summer holidays and the words "Feckin nightmare" spring to mind.

I'll come back down when the retards and their off spring have gone home and as for

st ives - full of pretencious artist wannabees
newquay - full of scabby teenage drunks
roseland - wockney cankers
padstow - full of people saying "How much?" outside rick steins chippy

As for the bloke being attacked by the buzzard, he was a solicitor. The buzzard probably though he was vermin and fair game

Nope - it cr4p all year round.

We have no restaurants, only greasy spoons. We have no hotels, only pikey guest houses. We have no countryside, only wasteland. Our beaches are litter strewn, our water polluted and we never get surf. The roads clog up all year round and even where they are clear, the are so rutted that only a Massey Ferguson will get you around.

The character filled, empty roaded, constantly sunny, stunning rolling hills of the South East and it's openly warm and friendly people who cast aside such trivialities as income, watch type and car model is a joy compared to the choking, poisonous land we struggle to live in down here.

Take heed.
