Just had my bank cards blocked
Didn't even know about it 
the fraud team phoned, due to unusual activity on my card...
turns out they though the combination of..
Car insurance renewal
Phone contract renewal
Fathers day meal
Leaving present
+ a test purchase on the card
were too much and blocked the card
turns out it was the £1 test purchase that triggered it..
(Voda - confirming my card was legit lol)
nearly had kittens mind.....
luckily there on the ball

Same thing happened to me a few weeks ago. A £1 payment and they blocked my card!!
Shame they didn't catch on when my current account got drained of three payments totalling nearly 3grand! I still suspect the card swipers at the esso garage near B&Q in welwyn garden city! FYI I wrote a letter of complaint to esso hq in London they said it was a franchise and not their problem. By the way the guys who used to run that station are no longer there. If you are looking to get ripped off in welwyn gc go to the petrol station near stanborough park. Dodgy *******!!!

It was the test purchase that did it
I had a card blocked after the cretins at Virgin Broadband took 4 months DDMs because they had messed up. I'd only agreed one month. Not good when you want your car back from the Subaru dealership after a service. Never did get the money back.

Mine was blocked only found out last night when I went to Pay Bob for the brake discs and it wouldn't go through.
They said it had been used by paypal 3 times recently (once a week for the last 3 weeks they ment!) for about the same sum so blocked it.
They were on the ball though
