Mobile phone contract question
My contract with voda is now up
and i,m looking at new phones..
ive seen the phone i want on a voda contract, via a 3rd party store..
i phoned voda to see if they can match the tarrif, and they reckon its unlikely at the moment..
I have two options.. use one of my other mobiles and use the pac code to port my number across..
or keep my existing number and take out the new tarrif..
Question..
can i just sign up for a new tarrif? or do i have to cancel my original tarrif?
or will they just move my current nuber to this tarrif?

If you are starting a new contract you WILL need the PAC ... Once you use that PAC the current provider considers this notice.
If you want a new tariff you can do that, but will need to cancel the old one.
Thats how I ended up with 6

Easiest way to keep your number and stay with the same provider if going with an independant is to get a PAC code, transfer your number to another providers PAYG sim, once the transfer is complete, get another PAC code from that and transfer it back to the original provider. Like this:-
Existing Voda contract > New Orange PAYG sim via PAC code
Orange PAYG sim > New Voda contract via new PAC code
You have a PM

Thats simple...
Buy the new phone, in the meantime get your PAC code (assuming the contract is up), when the new phone arrives, call up the provider and ask them to apply the PAC to the new account... job done.
