I was eagerly awaiting the N97 but got fed up of waiting and went for the Blackberry Bold, best phone i've ever had and just been voted phone of the year
However, if i had to choose between the N97 and the Iphone i would choose the N97 hands down, the Iphone is to commercially limited where as you can pretty much do anything you want with Nokias! It really bugs me that you can't even access your battery on the Iphone as well!!

For the people who already have Iphones, it isn't just a simple free upgrade like last time when upgrading to the 3g, you have to buy yourself out of your current contract and then sign up to a new contract!
Don't get me wrong the Iphone is a monster of a phone but i would just prefer the N97!

So internet tethering is free on a n97? I've had all the major services and 02 has been the best.
You just sound like another peed off person you cant get the iPhone for free so I'll slate

I'm no Apple fanboy, but the last few top end Nokias I've owned (N70/80/95) have been garbage, not sure I'd ever want to buy another one of those.
If it was a choice between the Nokia or iPhone then it's a no brainer for me.

The only reason i didn't get the Iphone instead of the Bold was the fact that i've had bad experiences with O2 and wanted to stay with Orange but didn't want to wait on the N97 as my friend who works in a phone shop said the Nokia rep could not confirm a release date. I would happily pay for a phone if it was worth the money and as for the upgrade i just think that those who bought the 3g would be pretty peed that people got the free upgrade from the 1st gen to the 3g but they don't get a free upgrade from the 3g to 3gs!

My mate is the manager of an o2 store and could of sorted me 20% off line rental however you are limited with the i-phone ie camera, processor, cost ect
N97 is available with al networks, is free on most and a more cost effective option in my opinion.
Yes their will be issues with software in the first few moths but nokia have promised updates to over come any "teething" issues.
Wots more the N97 is just god samn sexual

Oi whats with the Snazist comments
N97 looks to be a good bit of kit, but I would hold off for a few weeks until they have both kicked about the market and get their honest reviews, not the excited reviews.
Boils down really to what sort of interface you want, and if you want a hardware keyboard.

It won't take them long to jailbreak it. Jailbreaking is the easiest bit it's unlocking that can be a problem

You can tether for free but at your own risk...

Interesting button layout.
Sounds nice spec though, and remains a standard style phone to operate too

Personally I dont get on with SE phones, and prefer the Symbian OS, so I reckon the battle will carry on between the 2 manufacturers.
Compare phones - GSMArena.com
And remember the 8 million pixies living inside the Nokia have a decent window to look out of
