Default What are you Dad's getting on Sunday ??

I have just been asked by the good lady what I would like to do on Sunday ?

One of my ideas involved no kids around

So, what are you expecting, socks, soap on a rope, a lie-in ?

My first fathers day (of being a dad)!

Not going to ask for anything but I do have my eye on a new board (surfboard) and some new XTR spd pedals...

I'm not doing father's day until my kids are old enough to understand it.

I've managed to get both my lads to stop the "gift" malarkey. Christmas, birthday, father's day: neither of them can afford anything I'd REALLY want, so why make them part with dosh for the sake?

I'm happy with a card on birthday and father's day, and a hug at Christmas.

I don't have a dad, so money saved all round

Jeff, you can give me a hug for the large father figure void in my life

I'm off to the Pod. Hopefully on my own! You should at least be allowed this one day per year off from your parental duties!

I'm having a lie in, being served a fry up in bed and enjoying the F1 with a bottle or two of Becks.

STI - that's terrible.

Might go and say hello to the little one we lost on Sunday. Sad he won't be there.

<Nat 21 mode "on">:

Actually, that's a steam LOCOMOTIVE, it's TRAIN is the row of carriages, or "coaches", that it pulls behind it.

Strictly speaking, steam TRAINS don't exist

My grandad used to say we could expect "Bread and Pullit" if we were ever silly enough to ask what we might expect!

I'd like to think I'll get left alone to watch the F1 for the day but somehow I suspect that I'll have to spend Father's Day visiting my dad and the dad-in-law. Still, given STI's post above, perhaps I shouldn't take them for granted, eh?

Sounds like an excellent idea. Anyway Father's Day is just another one of those celebration days dreamt up by American greeting card companies to sell more cards. My kids (if I ever have any) will be under strict instructions to not waste their (or my) money on Father's Day cards or presents

Yes, but technically she would have to shout out 'who's the daddy' to qualify

I said exactly the same thing, right up until the moment I had kids. I still agree that it's a Hallmark holiday rather than anything else more meaningfull but sod it, I'm looking forwards to not getting up at 7am

Went to the NRM not too long ago.

My father will be lucky to get card. From my daughter I want no lip as I drag her and the wife across the country to Santa Pod.

I miss my Dad something chronic Know how you feel.
I will make sure the kids buy something special for his nibs, but I will miss getting something for mine. I refuse to buy for the FIL, I can't stand him
Have a great day, Scoobynet Dads
