Default Labour beaten into THIRD place in Europe.

Brown on brink after Labour routed - News - Virgin Media

Beaten into third by UKIP............don't know whether to be delighted or sick

I LOATHE UKIP, they are probably one of the most dishonest parties out there, but I DID want to see Labour hammered.

And only just as well -- the Liberal Democrats were only 1% behind Labour.

My word there are some left wing fanatics posting quotes on there
"labour have only been in power 12 years, they need more time," "Gordon Brown is doing a great job remember what labour inherited from the tories"

What is scary is these people are serious, unlike ps lewis

Just out of interest TT, please can you tell us in what way UKIP have been dishonest. I feel as though I have missed something somewhere.

Well, here's one example: Nigel Farage, Ukip: 'Other party leaders live in a PC world.' | Politics | The Guardian

And what of their stated aim, when they first started fielding MEPs, to refuse their seats, claim no expenses and work to bring the whole thing down? The minute they were elected, snouts in trough, no more said.

maybe they discovered they could be more effectual by taking the funding and use it to campaign? Is that a bad thing to be flexible?

On the 2 million quid thing - thats what MEPs get paid - all of them get paid that, Farage just happens to talk about it. And they're allowances not expenses

Nope, I can't accept that a party will stand for election with a stated aim, then change that aim, (apparently), as soon as they are voted in.

How is that any more honest than promising us a referendum and then refusing it at a later date?

Sorry, for a brand new party, they have pretty quickly learned how to get their snouts down

Just don't like 'em, never will and will NEVER vote for them.

Brown says he wants to do what is right for country. The right thing to do is to stand down NOW before the BNP gain any more support ahead of the general election. While Brown stays PM the BNP will gain more and more support and that, to me, is not a very pleasant scenario.

You are conveniently forgetting that UKIP MEPs have been caught with their hands in the till, one faces a jail sentence

Oh come ON Martin, we aren't all naive you know, do you think we actaully BELIEVE all this crud about how much a prime minister earns when in office?

It's down to how much he'll get when he leaves, the other Liar is now a millionaire, isn't he?

And don't, please don't, tell me that all his decisions are made without thought of his financial return..........

Well it's public record what the PM earns when in office, so it's not a matter of belief is it?
It's a hell of a stretch though isn't it to suggest that the reason someone want to become PM is to make money. Sure your earning power is vast once you leave office because of your profile, and if you are successful, and a brilliant public speaker like Blair then you earning power is even greater. Is it wrong for people to earn money?, btw did you know that Blair does a vast amount of UNPAID work all around the world, I guess you hate him so much you just couldn't bear the fact because you might have to give him some credit for that.

I don't think that it's ANY stretch to think that a bloke of Brown's calibre would make decisions based on HIS future: just look at what he is doing now. Got the best interests of the UK at heart? My firm but pliant, he has

And as for giving TBLiar credit for anything, forget it: I wouldn't give that bloke the steam off my sh*t

YOU have grown up DEBATES? Sorry, I thought you were just a Labour voter

Either that, or you ARE Gordon Brown

Apologist is I guess your way of describing anyone who doesn't see everything in black and white terms.

Edited because I can't spell

Thank you TT. I have to say that it seems to have been written by someone who hates their guts and you could think about much of it that "He would say that wouldn't he"! especially when you see the article's origin.
