Join you party of choice, or sit on local council. Once you are in the party you need to get elected for local elections. Once in there you can apply to the party whips to stand in a different role.
Sitting on the council is an easy way to get your foot in the door. A member of my immediate family is an elected councilor and he has been approached to stand for the Conservative party in East Anglia.
Take a while but you if you can do then do it, You will have the chance to make a real change or at the very least in Europe claim £357k in expenses a year without receipts.
