Engineering apprenticeship I've been applying for since January, starting mid September.

Congrats COB! Maybe see if you can get some time doing an internship with an engineering firm. Unpaid labour for them, experience for you possibly?

A lot of the apprenticeships learning curve is down to what I want to do. For example I can take extra learning like higher NVQ's or a degree and Corus will pay for it. It's all down to what I want to achieve and whether I have the go.
It's something once started, I'll sit down with my fiancee and discuss with her.
