Default E-bay 'Reserve not met ' question.

When bidding on an item on e-bay, the seller may sometimes set a 'reserve' price and the blue 'reserve not met' message is seen under the price. When a bidder puts in a bid that meets/exceeds the sellers reserve then does the "reserve not met' message disappear from the screen or does it remain anyway ?

Thanks

JBL

Last time I checked, you could only put reserves on something over 50 quid. So if you are looking at something worth less that that, and there is a reserve, don't waste your time bidding.

What I don't understand is how you can win some items if people don't bid against you.
For example, starting bid is 99p, reserve is £100. Say you put a maximum bid of £120, it only enters the first bid of 99p, so unless someone bids against you you'll not be able to win???

No your final bid must make the reserve.

If there is an unknown reserve, then as soon as your bid meets or exceeds it, then your bid will match the reserve.
