Terminator Salvation (2009)
IMDB rating of 7.7 at the moment, which isnt bad, however the ratings always start off being higher, and settle a bit lower.
Reviews say its not a bad movie in its own right, but fans of the originals (ie 1 and 2) will be let down.
Its PG-13 rated family viewing as well..

To be honest, every film is getting a slating at the moment. So if you actually believe everything those critics write, you'd never see another film again! If I like the look of it, I'll watch it and make up my own mind.

I think it could have been great.... it may well be but the rating makes me think for the subject matter it wont be anywhere near dark enough to get accross the gravitas of the situation.

+1 See it and make up your own mind. The word of a critic is by no means definitive: they offer their opinion, nothing more, nothing less. Film is a very subjective thing.

PG13 doesn't sound great though..
What is it with Studios not wanting to make grown up films anymore? Do they think only people dragging along a cartload of kids go to the cinema?

down to market size I presume but if it is at the expense of the product then it's overall a negative thing. T2 was superb and was a 15 but stuff like the scene with the T1000 kills JC's foster parents showed just what a killing machine the T1000 was.

Damned, motherfecking, retarded asse-masters!!! what the hell are they doing making it a PG13, I hadn't realised that was the case and was just lazily waiting for the film to come along, thinking they'd wanna right the wrongs of the last film.
Sounds like I was very, very wrong and it's gonna be absolute pish.
Oh, I do miss the days of being able to watch things like ED209 liquidizing people with machineguns!

i think its a case of get rich quick scheme from its predasesors, doesnt matter if its good or bad it just matters on how many people will go and see it,the first 2 were well thought out and brilliant, the 3rd 1 was a big let down so this wont be much better.

Went to watch Terminator Salvation last night.
Was OK. Felt a little bit like the series but with more money spent. I find Christian Bales "batman" voice doesn't really work - you know forced gravelly type that doesn't suit him.
Can't say it was great but worth a watch. Not sure I would have made such a fuss as CB did considering the story wasn't exactly epic.

Just been to see it - really enjoyed it. More of an apocalyptic sci-fi film with Terminator theme. Certainly played out on a very grand scale.
I would give it 7/10 - very enjoyable.

Saw it this morning. I enjoyed it, like I did the other three films, but the new director really hasn't brought anything new to the franchise besides the fact that he obviously enjoyed the Transformers movie. There are a lot of references in it to the original, and not a great deal of imagination IMHO.
But... there are CGI bad guys and lots of big explosions - so what's not to like?

Watch it as a summer blockbuster you will love it.
Watch it with the expectation of Terminator or T2 you will probably be disappointed.
Far more entertaining that the dreadful T3 mind you!

Go and see it and make your own mind up, but IMHO I enjoyed it, but it ain't gonna win any awards!
As a standalone film, people would be raving, but it pales in comparison to 1 and 2!
