I am desperate to go and see the film, I just have to get around to it.
From scanning the complete cast/crew list (several hundred of them easily)..... The main man Arnie is most definitely not in the movie. There are a few cast members who are 'uncredited' but I don't think they would do that to the big man.
I do not want to compare it to the others, especially as T1 is on a whole different scale to what movies are now.
The idea of T1 alone was years ahead of itself putting aside the special effects, as those on their own were in a league of their own for the time it was created . The ones that followed haven't really improved at all, they have simply attempted to become a close second to the others, and have shadowed the original plot line.
T4 will hopefully open a new chapter and give us something fresh to add the the Terminator movies.

As for the ratings the imdb now has over 25000 votes still giving it a rating or 7.2/10.
21% of the voters give it 10/10
12.3% give it 9/10
20.7% give it 8/10
19.0% give it 7/10
It seems to be doing a lot better than people have given it credit for.

Speaking for myself I am really looking forward to the film, and I will see how it works out even though I am pretty hopeful it will be good.

Arnie is NOT in this film. They have CGI'd his head onto a terminator in one of the end scenes and made a great job of it, but hes the same age he was on T1, so how anyone can think its really him is quite frankly totally beyond me. lol

Saw it last night. Thought it was really really good.
I've been looking forward to a film about the global war era of the story for a long time and it didn't disapoint.
Didn't like the end though. Very Hollywood and like previously mentioned just sets things up for the next film.

Stu, of course they have fitted in him in with the time line of events, if I had seen the film and noticed his age, it would have been pretty obvious. lol.

I thought the movie was ****e... good story but felt just vacant in some places, action scenes are limited when you take a proper look, no real set pieces when everything can just be cgi'd and **** like dat

Went to see this on (Orange) Wednesday, and as a massive fan of the first two I was entertained, but it fell short of what a Terminator movie should have been. As others have said, this genre of movie should have some graphic violence and real terror attached, but catering for as big an audience as possible by sanitising the action for a lower age rating has always ruined films. The current crop of action directors don't hold a candle to 'my' generations film-makers, when Cameron, McTiernen, Verhoven, Scott and Spielberg had much less technology and used imagination and creativity, along with some shock value to wow their audiences.

SPOILERS FROM NOW, DON'T READ IF YOU HAVEN'T SEEN IT YET

The new 'Marcus' terminator troubled me. I can't help thinking that if Skynet was developing this technology before Judgement Day, why did they then produce inferior models in the T600 and T800 ? From the first movie they commented that the 'early' ones were easy to spot, and I was appreciative that the T600's shown in T4 appeared to have rotted flesh and decayed clothing, suggesting just that. The T800 'Arnie' was a joy to see, but still, why did they bother when they had already produced the 'Marcus' ? I realise his secret mission status, but surely with an army of them the humans wouldn't have stood a chance ? Getting on to Marcus's mission, I found this plot-line to be obvious and predictable. And as for him offering to save JC at the end, I was nearly sick.

The feel of the movie wasn't what I wanted either, preferring the dream/future clips from T1/2, dark, foreboding and apocalyptic. This was too light, and much of the action seemed to be lifted from many movies. With a story which was pretty much written for them right from the first movie, they only needed to add action set pieces and a little originality, but keep it faithful. Here they failed.

For me, a fairly good action movie, a lacklustre Terminator movie, and another identical aggressive, moody, gravel voiced performance from Bale. I enjoyed it, but not as much as I wanted to. Will re-assess when a decent download is available or the DVD comes out, but not worth a second visit to the flicks. I saw T1 twice and T2 three times at the cinema

Just got back from watching t4 at the flicks and i loved it. Been a massive fan of the terminator concept right from the start and this is a fresh perspective. Good stuff.

I've actually seen it,which is rare as I can't be arsed going to the cinema. in fact most films on tv are new to me !

pretty good- but don't try to study it in depth- just accept its a shoot em up.

arnie- well in for 30 secs I guess.
