Default first i was agitated, now i need a shotgun!

Well going on from my last post. Just picked up my car.

Jobs i requested done
1. MOT check,
2. Rear Light Issue with a blowing bulb,
3. Fit front brake pads (I provided), Oil & filter Change (again parts supplied),
4. Removed damaged wheel nut
5. Check a problem with my front suspension.

Now i can understand there is quite a few items here but there is nothing here that is what i would call challenging but out of all this i have had my pads and oil changed oh and a new bulb in my back lights even though i told him i had replaced the bulb and guess what once i started my car up it blew yet again. But best of all

After getting halfway home, i noticed mmmm wheres my music? and...and....and.....
MY HEADUNIT & AMP are now DEAD!

Rang up said mechanic asked him what the craic was and he denies going anywhere near the headunit and it had nothing to do with him ffs.

The best bit about it, is that for wrecking my headunit fitting a bulb that has yet again blown and filling up my engine with oil and fitting 2 pads i'm being charged £100 even though I was quoted roughly £100 for everything bar the front suspension problem.

I really do feel like i've been stroked!

Don't pay him then.
Is it a DIY ICE install?

Doesn't sound like the best of days for ya but if that's the worst things that have happened, count yourself lucky, in the scale of things

Never have anywork done on your car/teeth/body on a Monday.

The largest percentage of Driving Test failures are on a Monday too.

I thought it was a bargain too he broke it down to £50 to for th MOT check £30 for removing the damaged wheel nut and £20 for replacing the oil which i thought was fair as i was supplying the consumables.

I didn't do it myself because i don't have a garage nor a driveway, i don't have any suitable tools and nor do i know anything about cars.

Has it just blown the fuse? Or the one on the rear of the headunit?

Ah the joys of alfa ownership, still think it was a better buy than a 2.0 Sport???

May be something very straight forward James - could be the earth has come adrift of a fuse has gone pop.

Find your fuse panel open it up, locate fuse (usually diagram inside) and replace with the same colour and rating of fuse. Check the fuse on the amp too.

After much twonking around i found the fuse for my headunit, took the fuse out, wasn't blown, put it in the other way around and err, it worked again.

Make of it what you will. I will just point out to all that will listen, never ever buy an Alfa Romeo they are cursed.

you would think that would be the case my friend but unfortunately Alfa Romeo prefer not to give you a hope in hell of finding the right fuse and thus find giving you a diagram unsporting.

With regards to buying a 2.0sport, I can honestly say i still made the right choice, no matter how much my car ***** me off. I just couldn't think of anything worse than driving a non-turbo impreza. its a bit like buying a Porsche Boxster because you couldn't have a 911 or a BMW 318i cus your a *****.

I had four wheel security nuts removed bcause the tool was damaged and the wash wipe made to work again, took 50 minutes and he charged £27 65p.

I think you have been ripped off.

Glad to hear that it's working again, James.

I will take your advice and will steer clear of Alfa's , although I do think the Mito is a cute little car.

Good luck with getting the rest sorted!
