Expenses?
I've just been moved out to site (not my choice) so I'm able to claim for the travel cost. Are there any rules that I need to be aware of as I've heard various stories on what I can or can't do eg some say I can claim entire cost, others say I can claim only the difference between head office & the site whilst others say that if the site is closer (to home) than head office then I can't claim anything! It's confusing so can anyone give me some advice on how to claim legally or certainly in accordance with the rules.
I know that I could ask "work", it's just that I don't want to give away any negotiating position as the difference between claiming for all rather than nothing is significant ...

i think inland revenue rules state that you can only claim fromm your permanent place of work to site not from your home
not sure what happens when the site is closer though

We've just been moved to a new building and the NHS will pay the extra milage we have to travel (from old place to new place) for 3-4 years. We can either claim monthly or have a one off lump sum.
TBH I havn't bothered claiming as it's only pence per day.
