It nearly always hits 30°C on the odd day each summer. Doesn't mean it won't p!ss it down for nearly all of the other days though!

Was it from Big Gordon Brown ?
Trying to stimulate us into going buying all the gear ,get that decking done ,new lawnmower ,sort the pond out etc ,etc etc , to stimulate the economy .
Cant remember the last decent spell of sunshine we had to be honest ,so i wont get my hopes up yet .
It would be nice though .

I flat refuse to put the missus hammock together, seemed to be the kiss of death for our summer last year
Also the BBQ is staying in the shed for now, just wheeled out if needed rather that left out with the cover on as I'm sure that didn't help last year too

Their forecast from Met Office: Trend of mild winters continues
" ... 25 September 2008 The Met Office forecast for the coming winter suggests it is, once again, likely to be milder than average. It is also likely that the coming winter will be drier than last year ... "
Their summing up of the winter from Met Office: Coldest winter for a decade
" ... 25 February 2009 Mild weather is expected to see out what remains of winter. Despite this, it is expected to be the coldest UK winter since 1995/96, according to provisional Met Office figures. The low temperatures have also been accompanied at times by heavy snow. During early February, the heaviest snowfall for 18 years was experienced over many areas of the UK ... " ..
F3ckin' useless! Which is why I'll be keeping the brolly in the car ..... and trusting any weather forecast about 12 hours ahead only.
Actually, fair play to them. They do keep all their old press releases on their web site so we can all have a good laugh at their ineptitude ...!

The Met Office can't forecast what we had yesterday let alone for months ahead. We would be better closing them down and saving some money. Use the French instead as their forecasts are usually more accurate.
