My phone contract is about to end and I've been looking at deals in the paper. Some of the offers at the moment seem pretty good and as part of the deal they say you get a PS3 or a Wii or a DSi or a well, you get the idea.

Has anyone signed up to a similar deal and did you get the incentive or not?

Personally I dont bother as most are via third parties and I prefer to deal with the networks directly.

I got one a couple of years back from dial a phone, included a 'free' PSP. It came through after the first bill no problem.

My missus thought it was a good deal and wanted a wii (when they were difficult to get hold of) so did a deal for a free one. On the day it was due to be sent the company e-mailed and said 'we can't get hold of them at the moment, so we've put £180 into your bank, get your own'. No problem with that.

I think the only minor issue was that you couldn't transfer your number if you stayed on the same network, it was fine if you changed network though.
