Default Is Scoobynet not as active as it once was?

"Muppets" is dead, "NSR" is deader than it used to be and General is full of "Neds in their Sheds" .....

That fatty lobster fella from IB posts infrequently and mainly in reply to "it's knackered, please fix it" type posts, and everyone is being ripped off by Islamic Razi's!

Things are that bad even J4CKO's attempting to lighten the mood with jokes (I should highlight "attempting" )

This place needs a kick up the harris

No, it just needs shot of the ********* from the various sections, DCI. It puts me off posting sometimes, so imaging a newbie with few posts.

Thats the reason this place is going to the dogs... quite a few posters need to realise that they are just that, a username/poster. Not some godly being who all should bow down to their over exasperated opinion of themselves.

All IMHO naturally

The Infraction System very nearly killed the whole site off IMO.

It is just adjusting to the better moderation taking place ...... and the sun is shining - people are out and about.

i think after being on here a while you realise whose posts are going to be good and informative and you learn to phish through and just read these.

true about new posters though, they wont have any idea whats hit them if they came from another car forum.

NSR is still healthy! Still plenty of posts, even if the same topics do tend to get repeated quite a bit (house prices, immigrants - and specifically islamic ones up to no good, vote for the fitty of the week etc)

I guess interest in Scoobynet may start to wane however, as lets face it the new Impreza isn't exactly selling like hot cakes....

i think the problem is that a forum needs to keep flowing at a certain pace to keep everyone interested and reading and posting.

when the site went through its changeover and had its speed issues (it's still not good TBH) it seemed the place dried up. personally i didn't come on here as much and still don't spend as much time viewing and posting as i just can't be arsed anymore.
weird really, i've just lost interest. now i spend my time doing other things.

maybe that's the problem, people have moved on and don't spare as much time to the site as they used to?

I think that nothing much has changed in the eight years that I've been here. People come and go, some times it's busy then it has a quiet phase, the people that disappear get replaced by a new lot and off goes the cycle again. Round and round and round and round

I can remember posts in 2001 stating that this place had gone to the dogs/got quiet/changed etc etc, people would moan that "all the good people have left" but then a new bunch would arrive and it would liven up again.

The one consistency has always been someone saying that 'Scoobynet has changed'

As for Muppets it was at its best in the very early days of this century, (2001 was a classic year), it's been going downhill ever since

For everyone who moves on and leaves someone else comes along to take their place. SN is like anything else it ebbs and flows along nicely.

Another thing you need to be told is this; it's wrong to differentiate between those who have posted thousands of times and those who haven't. Just because someone is new to the forum does not mean that they have nothing to contribute and their own experiences are not funny/constructive etc. This is my 81st post, well down on the majority, but that does not mean I've got nothing to say. Give everyone a chance to have their voice, of course certain topics will be repeated but if you don't like it then maybe it's you who has been here to long and it's you who needs a change.

A forum is constantly evolving, growing and developing because that is what a forum is all about. OK?

Regards the 'kin Mouse.

We don't even have internet at work, so no SN all day for me now. Well apart from my day off.

Tbh, I have noticed other times in my fairly short time on here, when it goes through fits and starts, so it doesn't seem anything strange.

At least you're here DCI.

That post was neither funny nor constructive and at least have the common decency to wait till you've amassed 1000 posts before replying with three full paragraphs worth of words. OK!

I think a lot of work places block forums nowadays, that could play a part.

But as I'm at home at the moment, I'm doing my best to make it more active.

I cant be bothered most of the time these days.
Every comment comes under such close scrutiny, for no reason other than having something to say, its really not worth it.

Well, DCI..........if you didn't keep disappearing like the elusive bleedin' pimpernel, I might spend a bit more time in here!

Although to be honest, the slowness, the back button issue and the being logged out thing have been really pee-ing me off lately and I just can't be arsed.

If you beg me I might consider spending more time in here........

The ex-webclown ALMOST killed it off with his overbearing attitude and his favourites who could do no wrong.

IB are coming a close second

I mean..........a webby who drives an M5, not a Scoob and puts pics of it all over the front page, look at me! Look at me! I ask you.

Oh.....and it's almost moderated into the ground now. Come back old mod team, all is forgiven

whoaa, easy fella! where did i say its old or new people that make this site what it is??

i said users of this site in general seem to be drifting off, new and old.

i'll give a newbie post as much time as an old member on here. infact a number of times i've posted on a newbie thread answering a question that's been asked many times over where no-one else has replied.
