Cheap beer
Have £10 to spend (out of my bi-weekly shopping budget before you start) on some beer for tomorrow nights footy match.
Tesco have 18 bottles of Carlsberg for £10, can anyone beat that?
Needs to be bottles as I'm not keen on the metal after taste you get with cans. Oh and needs to be lager if you please.
Round here I've got...
Asda
Tesco
Sainsburys
Morrisons
Aldi
Lidl
Netto
Spar
Suggestions welcome

Prefer bottles as pouring into a glass requires to keep rinsing it out, thus wasting valuable watching time.
And if you don;t wash the glass out, your beer goes flat quicker.
This is why I prefer bottles.

Supermarket Special Offers UK/Deals
Out of the dross available I'd go for the Stella in bottles. Carlsbery is not even 4% is it?
Stella Artois 18 X 284ml Bottles Tesco £7.00 Special Purchase

**** me, you dole bludgers don't have a clue do you If you've got £10 to spend on booze from two weeks money it's got to be worth considering the bang per buck factor (though I do draw the line at meths ). You have obviously never been a student...
Going down the lager route (based on Tesco prices please check the pikey supermarkets out too!) the Tenants Super is the King. £10 will get you 319ml of pure alcohol if you were able to extract it.
However as every good student knows Cider is the best, even beating cheap Vodka, Sherry, etc. There's some stuff in Tesco called Orchard Mill, £1.81 gets you 2 litres of this 5% brew, way cheaper than any lagers. In alcohol terms your £10 gets you 552ml. I couldn't find anything to beat this. Tastes good too. Better than any lager ****e

Surely cheap beer in bottles will tast worth than decent beer in cans?
Becks Vier for me (for home drinking). Sometimes on offer, other times it's not.
Cheap local ale from your local dodgy pub might work? Certainly kept me happy in student days!

I'm not a fan of cider, so bottled beer it is unfortunately CD I'm not into drugs currently either
Dave247, whats the point? Seriously... you pm'ed me a while back saying you didn't like me. Fair does, but why post a useless post on here. Wheres it got you - sad mate, really sad.
Looks like I'll be popping round the supermarkets tomorrow when I drop the Mrs off at work @ 6.30am. Least I'm not in bed all day like most "dole scroungers"
By the way, what time are supermarkets allowed to sell alcohol from? is it 11pm-7am?

Well come on really, who posts on a forum what beer to buy for the football for a tenner??
Your tryin to shop around to earn yourself a few ml. Personally I will go to nearest shop and buy 8 cans of whatever they have.
Or are you just bragging because you have £10 to spend haha

I just bought a box of Becks, I have no idea how much it cost or how many bottles were in it. It just looked about the right amount and I like the taste
I looked at the Stella but the shelf it was on was too high for me to lift it down

My dad used to be the manager at a supermarket, and they regularly caught petite ladies (shortar$e$) clambering up the display fixtures to reach the stuff out of their reach.
AS for the OP's question, I think it's a valid one. The SN massive probably quaff significant quantities of ale, so they can provide valuable research. If you want to get blotto, go for cider, but I think that quality over quantity would be more appropriate. Get as much Stella as you can, but not IN cans, you big wuss.

Still the advantage pf her being petite is that it makes for a cheap date - a glass of wine and she's done!

Petite nurse, now that's one of those awful dilemmas. Petite, AND a uniform Nurses uniform I've had too many trips to hospital, it's made cute nurses a bit of a good news, bad news, sort of thing. Good luck to you though.
