It's possilble to ride a scooter without doing a cbt but it's illegal. The reason is in possesion the rider only has a provisional licence ( applies to whom without a car licence ).With a car licence by law to ride a bike you have to do a cbt anyway.Basically meaning untrained riders aren't allowed on the road. Why don't they do training for night riding and motorway travelling ?. I have never ridden on a motorway with my bike before, if somebody decided to do that the DSA expects you to be competent. Some people are frightened of motorways ( perfectly understandable why that is ).

No you aren't allowed to carry a passenger, not until you have done a restricted licence test or DAS.

It's a good idea to do the cbt anyway, makes you much more aware of other drivers & riders and the same whilst driving the car too.
