Have downloaded all three parts but have yet to watch it. I don't expect it will be as good as the early series, probably about the same as the last series, which was pretty poor, but I'll reserve judgement until I've watched it.

I was hoping it wasn't going to be crap, but it was. The 3rd episode I almost smirked at a couple of the 'jokes' but I was just left with the feeling that I wish they hadn't bothered

What a wierd set of episodes. They were playing the Blade Runner homage far too hard. Some of it was quite clever but it just didn't gel. There was also too much Corrie stuff and not enough "look how daft everyone in the 21st Century is" which I was hoing for.
It's a shame as they seemed to slip back into their characters pretty well after all these years, it could've been a lot better. And to be fair, probably a lot worse....

I said on another thread - contrived, trying too hard to be funny rather than actually being funny
It's sad but I think they might have taken Red Dwarf as far as it can go.
Mr. Flibble's very cross

What a fcuked up storyline, the plot and script should never have been approved!

Quite liked the Blade Runner tributes. I said to my wife "Oh no, they aren't about to run through sheets of glass!?" And they did. I thought that was amusing.

It was more like what we knew from the first seven series rather than the last two, there were some good gags (hand dryers) and a gentle attack on the Red Dwarf fanatics, I quite liked the fact they pitted the Red Dwarf crew against the actors that played them, well Craig Charles anyway, I would rate it the same as some of the less inspired earlier episodes, the fact that the fan club chairman drove a Smart car dressed up to look like Starbug I thought was quite amusing and when they rang him and the guy apologised for interrupting his Warcraft session.
Perhaps a bit too subtle in places for some to "get"

Either way it was one of the more clever lines.
The little Rimmers letting them in to see their creator was clever. It rather relied on an extensive knowledge of Blade Runner for a fair few of the gags - which would indicate that it was aimed at die hard Sci Fi fans.

I've just finished watching it and found it somewhat amusing. Certainly not up to the first couple of series, but still watchable. The lack of the laugh track made it seem very sterile to me.
The "I'd do a sitcom" line from Rimmer did make me chuckle a little, but the Corrie stuff made me wince.
Was Listers "Listy and Kryten" idea of a show some oblique reference to Catweazle or something else?
All in all, not too bad, and I'd rather have this than no RD at all.
The question is, will there be more, as it's seemingly set things up for the boys of the dwarf to go off hunting for KK. Actually, the real question is, would we want them to?
