Default Where to take an American in London?

My 24 year old yank cousin is coming to visit and I need to take him around.
So far I've only come up with the London Eye, and maybe a topless bus tour.

Any other ideas?

The idiot doesn't drink, take drugs or partake in watching young scantily clad girls dancing around a pole, so I'm a bit stuck

Take him on a walking tour taking in all the historic sites.

Tower of London, Piccadilly, Trafalgar Square, Hyde Park, Oxford Street, Harrods, Buck Palace, St Pauls, Greenwich, Covent Garden etc etc etc.

Not neccesarily in that order !

Also cosider the river cruis meal things - apparently they're pretty good (not done this myself)

Yeah I would have to agree on the tourist trail.
Open top bus tours are an easy way to chill, see a lot and relax
Boat trip, rib tour if he likes getting wet, duck tours.

Taking a tourist round is a great excuse to do the things you have never done yourself

Having no royal heritage over the pond perhaps he would like -

The Royal Collection - The State Rooms, <br>Buckingham Palace

Great opportunity for him to take snaps etc.

Also take him to Arsenal v Chelski May 9th for a bit of atmosphere.

Thing is he is 24, would he appreciate such things?

Snazy, what the hell is a rib tour? (or a duck tour for that matter)

Jasey, the river cruise thing sounds like a good idea.

The problem with him he isn't into the things that young men should be into ie getting drunk, but is too young to appreciate the finer things

London Aquarium
Kew Garndens

Trees and fish - what more could a 24 year old want?

Go to the Excel Centre and tell him Barack Obama was here!

Rib tour is a river tour on a high powered rib boat, they take pleasure in high speed turns etc getting everyone wet lol. And see the sights.

A duck tour is daft but a fun way to see town. Amphibious vehicle, drives round town seeing the sights, then drives straight into the river Thames for a river tour too.

Something different

Get a one day pass on the river bus and head out to the Thames barrier. It's awesome close up. It's cheaper than a boat tour and you an get on and off at various places. It also has a bar on board which you might appreciate.
Take him up the Monument. It has nearly 400 steps , but no elevator , and is free.

Open top bus tours.

Overpriced - infact way overpriced.

I was in London with wife/kids a few weeks ago.
Did the bus tour - £83 fecking quid for 3 adults and a child.

London Eye - passes some time.

Ripleys, again passes some time.
Try getting out of the mirror maze - very bizzare, then the tunnel thing which confuses the **** of your brain and makes you think you're tipping upside down.

Harrods - boring I thought.

Was down in London two weekends ago and noticed that pretty much everything to do costs a minimum of £15-20 per person - What credit crunch .

Still - Did discover a very good deal on the hotel - The Grand at Trafalgar (well Northumberland Avenue to be precise).

Good accommodation, Great central location and very reasonably priced. Fri - Mon (3 nights) for £240

I stayed in the Radisson SAS Portman.

Indeed - what credit crunch.

Or is it that the Northern Irish & Scottish don't like being ripped off

Show him the memorial eagle stood opposite the London Eye.
It hails the British dead of two world wars. Note; the eagle looks towards France.
The Yanks believe that they prevailed in world war II, at least, single handedly.

The Official London Ducktours

Pick a good time of day though 'cause they are the slowest thing in the world on water if the tide is against them

I'd say the usual tourist things:
London Eye
Madame Tussauds
Tower of London
Buckingham Palace
Natural History Museum
Science Museum
National Museum
Imperial War Museum
Convent Garden
Thames Flood Barrier (ok, a weird one I know, but if he's interested in engineering it might be of interest to him)
Greenwich Observatory
Downing Street (Show him where his Presidents favorite semi-blind, unelected bum boy lives)

The come out of the water just down in Vauxhall, just down the road from my work, hilarious watching them getting stuck in the mud and sand

They do look fun though. But that said, so do the ribs
