Why the hell dont sports shops sell karate outfits
Been to about 7 sports shops today, including a massive JJB, and not one of them sell Karate outfits or belts !!
Absolutly ridiculous if you ask me, why is sports shops these days are just fashion shops rebadged, with the exception of selling football kits (well if you like Liverpool or Man U that is)
Anyone know where I can get a Karate outfit from ? and a Yellow Belt

Taskers sports in Anfield, get to the Asda and the Liverpool Pride on Queens Drive, turn left make your way up to the ground and its on your right.
http://www.taskersport.com/about.htm Martial arts clothing
Taekwando suits, judo suits, juijitsu suits, karate suits, we have the lot at prices well below that of your club, starting at £12.00 inc belt. Also available Thai shorts at only £12.99 a pair.
There is also a Martial arts outlet by the Western Approaches pub, it huge, sells everything from suits to pads to killing equipment.

Rather than go next door to Topman/Shop or Next or Burtons/DP and buy a pair of jeans, casual shoes and a shirt/top for £60 all in and look 1000 times better.
I do wonder if I'm being snobbish though. My grand parents would have looked down on Jeans as low rent (random film quote trivia - "this ain't no rodeo" - no points just for fun) in the same way I look at McKensie Tracksuits being worn on the high street and think ****!

try Blitz Sport - Martial Arts Equipment - Martial Arts Supplies - Martial Arts Clothing - Martial Arts Weapons I've used their 'silver tournament' gis for the last 6 years for karate, about as good as you can buy outside of japan, hardwearing, preshrunk and good fit

I too have recently bemoaned the tosh sold by shops claiming to be "sport shops". I walked in and straight out of the ones on the retail park at Speke (Liverpool) when I was after some running gear.
Ended up making a trip to Decathlon and bought a load of stuff.

In answer to the original question:
Because they are not Sports Shops, they are fashion shops for the clueless.
sorry - possibly offensive but you cannot buy 'decent' SPORTSWEAR in them just over-hyped over-priced brand name clothing.

Fairly obvious - the so called 'sports shops' now are just a place for scummy chavs to buy their overpriced, sweat shop produced, garish 'leisure wear'
Can you really see your average benefit cheating / part time dope dealing council estate scum popping in to buy some new tennis shorts, running spikes or squash ***** ?
Not to mention that none would attend martial arts classes, as they dont teach you how to fight one person with 10 of your mates as backup while hammered on cheap cider - or the amazing saturday night 'windmill' technique where you run at your opponent swearing at the top of your voice while spinning your arms as fast as possible and hoping you hit something.

Our local sports shop sells them.
They also do lots of really decent quality gear - like outdoor shops, I tend to go in and end up spending more than I intended to.
