Zontar rocks!

I was on a Deltic a couple of weekends back (Royal Scots Grey on the East Lancs Railway):

And no, I don't have an anorak, I just used to live on the same road as the Vulcan Foundry (home of the Deltic amongst other great locos)

I liked the Deltics, but because I lived within 20 miles of the ECML, they were a bit "common" to me.
I preferreed the "Westerns", but my all-time favourite was D0280/(D)1200, "Falcon".

+1 for the Deltics, Lived 1/2 a mile from the ECML, could look down the hill and see them from my bedroom window, what a sound they made, you'd hear them coming from miles away at night with the wind carrying the sound of those nappier engines. Those sounds are up there with a scoob and a Spit I remember seeing them all lined up at Donny works waiting to be scraped years back, sad sight, last time I saw one was about 7 years ago departing Hendon Central on a special, just had to pop down there to hear and see one for old times sake

Funnily enough just been reading about them on the net before I popped in here, i'll check the You tube links when I get home, YT is blocked at work.
