Default What to wear for an Interview ..

Got an email about my 2nd interview for that role I posted about a few weeks back ..

They said I can wear casual if I wish....

Is this a test ?

I replied back saying I have been think about this and think it would be best for me to wear a shirt and tie.. I appreciate the offer.

Its not the manager but one of the would be colleagues of mine that is interviewing me ... 30 minute test then and hour interview....

Interesting...

Personally, I'd always go smartly dressed, just to be sure. Good luck!

What I would say, but keep that tie in your pocket in case you feel you need it after all.

Smart shoes, collared shirt under a smart single coloured round necked jumper, Smart trousers.
Stand out from any other interviewees.

As the others: Good luck.

Never wear a suit to court. If you get sent down in suit you will surely be bummed to death.

Personally I would wear smart shoes, trousers and single coloured shirt and tie. Leave out the suit jacket its too try hard.

You would need a good script to go with that ensemble!

Wrong attitude to have mate - go in positive and slightly arrogant (provided you know what you are on about and have the confidence to show it).

I went for a job interview ages ago where I was told by the recruitment agent the job was already taken for so I saw it as a challenge - impressed the company so much they gave me a job on the day.

Dress smart, take the time on your appearance but don't over do it, appearance is everything and says a lot about the type of person you are

I hate these tests, designed to make smart people feel really stupid and I personally think the tests should be used as an indicator not as the reason to give a job or not (I lost a job because the companies HR department felt I had not done well on the bull**** test even though I had blitz the technical and 1-to-1 interview).

These tests vary a lot but generally you get stuff like:

"The earth is flat, it takes you 4 days to reach the end of the earth if you... blah blah blah"

Your natural reaction would be "hold on the earth is round and it doesn't take 4 days (unless you own a posh jet)...."

But like I said the tests can vary and you might just get something easy - no point worrying yourself about it until the day (as long as you have prepared yourself).

Never doubt yourself, if you see weaknesses you will not be concentrating on your strengths..... n stuff like dat

I disagree actually

Wear a suit with no tie, top button undone on the shirt (not double cuff though).

make sure your shoes are polished too. why anyone bothers to wear a suit and scuffed/dirty/worn shoes is beyond me. shoes are the best judge of women and men's personalities.

They probably meant how much notice you need to give to your tailor.
