Suggest a holiday for me....
Been searching for a couple of weeks.
Needs to be:
1)December.
2)25c - 30c.
3)Beech
4)No more than 12 hr flight.
5)No more than £2500 per person inc flights, hotel and local charges.
6)No stupid "catch a 4 hour water taxi and then hike 3 hours to the hotel" type deals.
7) No high risk places.
Now the tricky bit, the hotel has to really be spot on - the one thing that niggles me is a crap hotel, esp when you are 3000 miles from home and you just spent a lot of money! I usually stay with a well known 5* chain, but the £$ rate is really not helping this. There are still cheap places to stay with them but you get caught out with either 6, or 7. I.e they are a serious slog to get too or they are in a country where no yanks will go thus allow any old rabble to go (i.e brits!) and price accodringly.
Lastly, I have not been on a proper sunny holiday since 2004... so I REALLY need one.
So thats it, suggestions please!

I need actual hotel names if possible, i.e you have been there and you would be happy to send someone you know there!
Also, dubai would be nice, but I think its going to be too cold (windy and <25c?) and also - its not finished yet!

lol Dubai will never be "finished" mate.
OK fair enough, December is only about 21-25 degrees. Bit chilly.
I stayed in the Hilton there, and was happy, excellent service, great rooms, and private beach
Good luck on the search

If it wasn't december you wanted or on such a tight budget I would have said the Marbella Beach club (providing you don't mind mixing it with celebs either )

Oh, just noticed you said no HIGH RISK places . . . Its about 12 feet high, so would that be too high a risk? They have a lovely pond if you fancy snorkling and their kids padling pool is pretty big too!
I'm sure I can get them to give you mates rates if you're interested?

CUBA every time!
Right temperature, fantastic people, unique country - and go before it all changes.
Currently the Americans cannot go there, unlike the rest of the Caribbean, but after Castro who knows....
(I have nothing against the Americans)
We have been several times (though I wouldn't rec the hotel as last time we went it was looking a little tired!)
We go the the Cayos which are a row of small islands on the north east coast - and usually go at Christmas.
Transfer from the airport (Cayos have their own) is no more than 1 hour.
No locals live on the Cayo islands (so no hastle on the beach) although you would need to go on an excursion / hire a car to see the real Cuba.
Best way to sum it up..........
Christmas morning we were in The Magic Kingdom Florida with our then nine year old daughter - magical - she looks up and says 'next year can we go back to Cuba?'

Currently looking at Bermuda?
Anyone been?
Hawaii - we will defo be going there at some point. We want to go to Japan too, so will prob do it during that trip. We plan to do our honeymoon in Japan and the far east, could come back via Hawaii and also want to see the West coast of the US too.

Hawaii is awsome (and i,m not a particular fan of the US)
South Africa, Capetown, is a great flight, 12hrs but no time difference to speak off, so leave work friday, catch the friday night flight, wake up in capetown saturday morning
food is very good -- wine, some of the best in the world, quite cheap, although for warm sea you need to go to Durban as the see around Cape Town is freezing

Have to agree!! Wish we'd stayed for longer and gone to more of the Islands.
Could easily combine it with a West Coast Trip.
When we went a few years ago we went:
UK to San Fransisco
San Fransisco to Hawaii
Hawaii to Los Angeles
Los Angeles to Las Vegas
Las Vegas to UK (Via Chicago)
I'm not a huge fan of going back to places I've been before (rather see something new) , but Hawaii is somewhere I would go back to.

Planning to head to Hawaii soon too.
South Africa is apparently amazing and 9 hours flight.
There's an incredible hotel in Lanzarote and it's warm in December - we ate their and it was great. 4 hours flight, avoid the plebs in Playa Blanca. Finca Malvasia, Masdache, Lanzarote, Spain: Canary Islands | i-escape.com review
Sandy Lane might stretch the budget and is a bit of a trophy hotel (I know the ex head chef) for rich chavs.

Without a doubt, Excellence Riviera in Mexico - about 30mins south of Cancun. Stunning in every way, incredible place, wonderful service and fantastic food!
If you want marble everywhere, a massive four-poster bed, huge wet-room and two jacuzzi baths in your room (well, one on the patio) then go here. I've been twice...
