Any vets? Bad cat sick!
Hi, sorry for the subject matter, but my cat has been badly sick 3 times in the last 2 weeks. When i say badly, it's very clear, with digested food(not the usual eaten too fast undigested type), fair bit of grass, very smelly, and a lot! I've never seen so much fluid exit a small cat before.
He's fine in himself, not skinny, eating well, just looks normal and healthy.
Any ideas what could cause this? Is it vet time?
Thanks, Mit

You should certainly get him checked out. You shouldn't leave these things for two weeks!
Is it food you recognise or does he/she have a stash of something horrible in the garden like a poisoned rat that he is snacking on?
Cats eat grass to make themselves sick usually to cough up fur ***** from cleaning themselves up.
I would change his diet to something bland for a few days, like mashed up white fish, to let his tummy settle.

They do have a habbit of being sick, eating too fast, and too much grass!
He was sick like this twice in three days, then nothing for 11 days, untill today, so it's not like i've left it for two weeks without good reason. I'd be a broke man if i went to the vet every time one of our cats/dogs was sick!

We took our cat to the vet after he was eating too much grass and shatting grey pooh. An expensive visit to the vets later, turned out the greedy bugger was wolfing down the next doors chicken leftovers bones and all
Apparently they eat the grass to chunder up the mashed up bones, to save digesting them

I don't like the sound of the bad smelling vomit. Also, he could become dehydrated through losing so much fluid. Personally, if it's been going on for a couple of weeks I would take him to the vet. Hope he's ok.

My cat has a habit of eating caterpillars then chucking them up with her last meal and some grass.. She does this at least twice a week and doesn't seem to learn not to eat them.

Hi, just an update..
We took Smudge to the emergency vets last night, as he wasn't looking very good.
The vet did a blood test, and the Creatinine level was very high, 860, normal upper limit is 240!
Creatinine is a waste product from the kidneys, and is a good indicator on the kidney's function.
Basically, Smudge has suffered kidney failure. He has spent the last night and today on a drip, to flush his system and to provide much needed fluids.
I've just been on the phone again to the vets, and the Creatinine level has dropped dramatically to within limits, and I'm over the moon!
The vet was preparing me for the worst in the early hours of this morning,(it's been a long night/day) he's amazed he's recovered so well.Smudge is drinking, which is good, and peeing, which is very good, as it shows the kidney's are working. He's much happier in himself too!
It looks like an accute failure, which means he's eaten somthing nasty, or the kidneys just stopped working.his also means it's happened very recently, hence why he's been fine the past couple of weeks.
He's spending another day at the vets, on a weaker drip, and hopefully, if all's well, he'll be home in 1-2 days.
He's not out of the water yet, as how he reacts when off the drip is very important, so fingers crossed!
Thanks for all your help, Mit

He's home!
He's still quite lethargic, and he has some tablets, but he's much better.
Going back to the vets on Thursday for a check up and blood test, to see how he's doing, hopefully all will be ok.
Im off shift for the next 4 days, so can keep a good eye on him.
Here's a pic as requested:
Thanks for all your support!
