Pure evil carried out on Mugabe's orders.
But he must regret that Morgan Tsvangirai survived relatively unscathed and is free to tell the world what actually happened (unless they get to him in some other way first).
No doubt Mugabe will make the truck driver a scapegoat and will arrest him for dangerous/drunken driving.

I have to say didn't anyone think the guy looked frightened when they swore him in?

I hope that Mr Tsvangirai has his own guards by him 24/7 in his hospital room.
I don't want to see headlines next week saying he died as a result of internal injuries which were "more serious than we suspected".

Choona Mwana, the lorry driver, was reported to have told the independent Zimbabwe Standard newspaper that he had hit a hump in the road and was battling to control his vehicle when it hit Mr Tsvangirai’s car, causing it to overturn.
Mrs Tsvangirai was pronounced dead on arrival at hospital.
Seven leading political figures seen to have been challenging Mr Mugabe’s rule had died in mysterious circumstances. Most were killed in vehicle accidents that were never satisfactorily explained.

Did you see the latest report on the beeb last night?
Tsvangirai's car was accompanied by security guys from one of Mugabe's security services.
They got to a straight bit of road and security car/s sped off out of sight into distance. Then a truck appeared travelling fast and side-swiped Tsvangirai's vehicle.
Truck driver was ex-military and not usual driver. A white guy taking photos of scene was arrested and photos destroyed. Security guys did nothing to help the injured.
All an unfortunate coincidence I suppose

Someone somewhere must be lining up to kill Mugabe - even if it isn't Government sponsored i'm surprised a mercenary group hasn't popped him off already to change the regime. Shame Mark Thatcher and Simon Mann and their little gang got caught, they could have done it after Equitorial Guinea!

This isn't the first time a highly suspicious road accident has been used against political opponents of Mugabe, Josiah Tongogara was offed in a similar fashion.
